Trying to Seek But Cannot Find

Family of Preston Hickey and Mary Jane Palmer

My part-time hobby is doing family searches.

There are many mysteries when one does genealogy searches.  There are so many questions.  Yet, to my amazement, there are so many answers.

While I search for African Americans family connections, I see so many missing links.  Answers that will never be there.  Slaves registered with only a first name given by the one(s) who took him or her from the continent of Africa.  They (the stolen ones) were denied their family name, ripped from their heritage connection and stripped of their dignity.  Once arriving to their new destination they are then separated from family ties.  They are treated (not by personal choice)  by someone who was empowered by sin and given authority to steal the oppressed's spirit for financial growth.

Sometimes, while doing searches, I ask myself, is there a God out there?  How could He allow something so devastating to happen to a people he created.?  People who are not darkened by the sun but by His enpowerment.  People who hair is so well defined with curl in accordance the texture He desired.  People with broad distincted features not by their choice but His moldings. A people He created.

Does this supreme being like to play jokes on races?  Is He really cruel instead of love?

I was listening to a radio ministry and the minister said  " we as children of God are taught that God will not give us something we cannot handle.  But, that is not true.  God at times will give us somethings we cannot handle so that we can seek him for comfort."

I would like to ask that minister why must God (his God) be dramatic?  Are we to believe that God will taste the salt of our tears, wipe the sweat from our brow, carry our sorrows and forgive us of our hatred.  Is his God telling us that family of the past is of no importance?  Am I to believe that we are to live only of today?

There is one common thread that man (and women) had in common.  Socialization.  Identification.  People of color would like to do as though who are not, say to their child "I know that your ancestor was a king or queen because I have the direct line of authentication.  But instead, they are bound with generalities.

I am searching now for a Hickey family.  Below this was found on "google.com".  I can not find the author.
