Old Testament

Chapter 36 in the Old Testament is Genesis (36); it is composed of 43 verses.

The Last verse is that number 43

It says:

Genesis 36: 43 (King James Version)

43)" Duke Magdiel, duke Iram: these be the dukes of Edom, according to their habitations in the land of their possession: he is Esau the father of the Edomites ".

Note: The correct translation is Esau the father of the Edom.

The verse is talking about Esau's genealogy.

Was Esau Edom or the father of the Edom?

New Testament

Chapter 36 in the New Testament is Mark 8; it is composed of 38 verses.

The Last verse is that number 38

It says:

Mark 8: 38 (King James Version)

38) " Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels".

The verse is talking about whosoever shall be ashamed of Jesus and of his words; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed.

I wonder why and how to be ashamed of Jesus and of his words? It is supposed to love Jesus and of his words and to be proud of Him in Love, not to be ashamed! Does anyone have a good answer please tell me.

The Noble Quran:

Chapter 36 in the Noble Quran is YA-SEEN (YA-SEEN); it is composed of 83 verses.

YA-SEEN 36: 83

The verse is talking about three issues; and they are:

1) What is in Allah's hand?

In his hand is the dominion, the kingdom, the stores of and the creation of all things e.g. Angels, man, jinn, stars, planets, heavens, water, rain, clouds, rivers, seas, oceans, atoms, plants, animals, bacteria, fungi, viruses, etc. in this life and in addition, the kingdom of everything in the afterlife.

2) Unto Him you will be brought back after death and He will requite you each according to his works

3) Therefore glory and exaltations are to him.
