I agree a lot of Learning disabled people are group in the wrong area, Either they are group in the wrong area such as with people who have been in state hospitals such as programs such as Threshold programs in our area.
This is wrong in my opinion I thing LD should be a separate program Altogether in apartment living and job hunting do you have to be classified as mentally ill for to put you in separate programs no not at all.
If OVR is trying to train some one.There should be a reality approach to finding jobs with career link etc. Therefore not a job club approach,which maybe unsuitable for another individual.
Consequently there are lot of individuals with LD are group into these programs, which I thing is wrong.Surely there is a better way I heard of many LD indivisuals graduating from college only to be put into group homes or threshold programs needed to be trained into the community there has to be a better way
.This is why I feel there should be non profits programs for the reality based LD individual such as meeting places job training and educational opportunity awaiting also not being group in MR /HM categoryat all
.Further more many believe in Sally Smiths ideas such as training in the Arts such as film making and cartooning, and more stronger LD disabilities programs in college and better jobs for these individuals than washing dishes.
