“Spanish in the Dominican Republic”

When foreigners speak to locals in Spanish, not all Dominicans will understand what is being said. Your challenge should be to learn which words are strictly Dominican and which ones are not. It is common courtesy to try to speak the language of the country you are visiting. More often than not, if the locals in the Dominican Republic see you trying to converse with them in their own tongue, they will try to help you along.
